Artisans
Artisans were in the middle class. Them and their family lived in rectangular modest home that were about 10 yards. There were 3 rooms in the house. One for work or housing animals. The second was a living room. The third was split into a kitchen and bedroom. Artisans worked side by side. They worked for tens days until they had a break off. Food would be given to them by their employers but, if food was low they would often go hungry. Pharaohs would call hundreds of artisans on royal projects. Artisans create the work that is shown on temples, royal tombs, and other monuments. They work in large groups to complete engravings, hieroglyphics, and paintings. Even with artisans skill the upper class still looked down upon them. The most skilled artisans didn’t sign their name on their work. But sometimes their employers would have a banquet for his favorite artist, and honored him by portraying him in a painting, or by being engraved.
